The Umbrella Thorn is one of the most recognizable trees in the African savanna. It grows up to 21m in height and has a distinct canopy that makes it easy to identify. Interesting fact - the Israelites used acacia wood to build the Ark of the Covenant and the Umbrella Thorn Acacia is thought to have been the main source.

The Shepherd's Tree is known as the "Tree of Life" locally, as humans and animals alike can find sustenance from it. The roots, when dried and roasted and ground act as a substitute for coffee, or can be pounded into a white meal to make porridge. The leaves have medicinal value and even its berries are edible. It is also known to have the deepest documented root structures of any plant, going up to 68 meters!

The Ancient Marula Grounded deep in the African Soil, the Marula is one of the bushveld's iconic trees. The marula fruit is often eaten by elephants and other animals, as seen in this sketch.
Fighting a battle against cruel humanity, the mother Rhino, and her calf are in search of a life they used to know. A life where the yellow-billed ox-pecker sitting on her snout isn't the only reminiscence of the once majestic horn she used to bear.
